What's included in WordPress maintenance

Updates handled for you

We update WordPress, themes and plugins monthly with Basic and weekly with Pro and Premium.

Continuous security monitoring

Malware monitoring checks your website around the clock, while the firewall filters known attack patterns.

Daily backups

Your website is backed up daily to two separate locations. Contact our team when you need a restoration.

Configured for WordPress

NVMe storage and configured caching support fast loading, with performance also depending on your website's code and content.

Real people, speaking English

Call our team during support hours. Email first-response targets are 48 hours for Basic and 24 hours for Pro and Premium.

Technical upkeep handled for you

You update your content; we handle the agreed technical maintenance of the platform.

What does WordPress maintenance mean?

WordPress maintenance assigns responsibility for core, theme and plugin updates, backups, security and monitoring to a provider. Without that agreement, the website owner must arrange these tasks. Delayed updates can leave known vulnerabilities exposed.

Every ResaHost hosting plan includes WordPress maintenance. We handle the agreed updates, backups and monitoring, with English-speaking support when you need help. You retain control of your content.

What a missed update can cost

Vulnerable plugins can give attackers a way into a WordPress website. Once a security flaw becomes public, automated tools may look for unpatched installations. Small businesses can be targeted too.

A compromised website can display unwanted content, send spam, trigger browser or search warnings, or stop working. Recovery takes time and can disrupt your customers. Regular maintenance reduces that risk.

Who is WordPress maintenance for?

Businesses without an in-house IT team

If nobody owns website maintenance, we can handle updates and monitoring. Basic provides scheduled monthly updates; we assess urgent security fixes separately.

A four-step update process

It is understandable to worry that an update might break a theme, form or layout. A repeatable process reduces that risk: back up, test, check key functions, then publish. We agree testing arrangements to suit your website and plan.

1

Backup

We take a current copy of the website and database before making changes.

2

Test the update

We agree an appropriate test environment for changes that need separate testing; dedicated staging is included with Premium.

3

Check key functions

We check the relevant pages and functions, such as forms, checkout and sign-in, within the agreed scope.

4

Apply the live update

After the agreed checks, we apply the update to the live website and check it again.

Does someone actually own maintenance?

Maintenance is easy to miss when nobody has clear responsibility. Check these four points before assuming your website is covered.

  • Is someone named as responsible for website updates?
  • Is a current backup available before each update?
  • Is the website checked after updates?
  • Have you agreed how often updates are performed?

If any answer is no, talk to us about closing the gap.

Scheduled updates run monthly with Basic and weekly with Pro and Premium. We assess critical security fixes for urgency and compatibility rather than leaving them to the routine schedule.

Daily backups are stored in two locations, and we ensure a suitable current backup is available before changes so restoration is possible if needed.

We restore a working backup where appropriate and investigate the cause. Premium support has priority.

Yes. WordPress core, themes and plugins are covered by the agreed update schedule. Premium licences and custom compatibility work are agreed separately.

Yes. You can update content using your own account, and your content and data remain yours. ResaHost handles the agreed technical maintenance. We coordinate larger technical changes so future updates and restoration remain manageable.

We assess its condition before taking it on and agree any remedial work needed. Older themes, plugins or custom code may need separate development.

The agreement continues until cancelled with one month's notice. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies under its terms.

Deactivation leaves files on the server, and some vulnerabilities can remain reachable. We review unused plugins and themes and agree their removal, keeping anything the website still needs.
