Compare hosting and WordPress maintenance

Two hosting offers can include the same amount of storage and leave you with very different responsibilities. Before choosing a provider, ask who updates the website, checks it afterwards and restores it when something goes wrong.

For a business comparing providers across Europe, the useful comparison is the actual service agreement. A low price is only meaningful once you know which work it covers and which work your team or agency must still do.

A firewall filters traffic. Website scanning looks for malicious code; cleanup removes it. Two-factor authentication protects an account only once activated. Automatic updates do not replace functional testing. Even tested updates may need further fixes.

Ask what happens after an update

Updating software reduces exposure to known issues, but the work should also include checking the result. A broken enquiry form can lose business while the homepage still looks normal.

Ask what recovery means for your business

A backup tick in a comparison table does not tell you how much recent work might be lost or how quickly recovery can happen. An online shop and a brochure website may need different arrangements.

Tell the provider which functions are critical, what changes during a normal day and how long the business could manage without the site. Ask for the relevant recovery scope in writing. ResaHost’s standard daily backups should not be read as a guarantee of zero data loss.

Compare the total arrangement

Include the hosting fee, technical maintenance, optional tools, development work and the time your own staff still spend coordinating suppliers. Check cancellation notice, price-change terms and the ownership of your domain and website data.

ResaHost plans start at €69/month excluding VAT. The standard agreement has one month’s notice, counted from the end of the calendar month in which notice is given. It also includes a 30-day money-back guarantee on plan subscription fees. Premium adds priority handling, security reports and a hack-fix guarantee under its terms.

You may already have the right partner

If your current agency or IT partner already handles these responsibilities well, compare the contract and outcomes. You do not need to replace an effective arrangement just to reduce the number of suppliers.

Ownership information was checked on 11 September 2026 against the sources listed below. The packages do not offer identical features. Prices are monthly prices excluding VAT; billing periods and final terms must be checked when ordering.

The Key Flag has been verified for ResaHost and Louhi’s Priima platform. The sources checked did not confirm the mark for Zoner or Louhos Digital; this does not mean they cannot hold it.

What the blue markers mean

The selections are based on the service features and ownership information listed below, not on the overall superiority of a service. Missing information does not mean a feature is unavailable. Where services receive the same marker, their implementations may differ.

ResaHost first applies updates in a test environment and checks functionality before and after deployment. Basic includes monthly form testing. Louhi performs a manual check when applying updates. The two-factor authentication marker indicates availability. It does not confirm that protection is enabled for all WordPress users or that setup and maintenance are included in the service work. The customer support marker confirms that phone or chat support is available. It does not indicate the longest opening hours or the fastest response or resolution. The NIS2 marker refers to a documentation service, not certification of compliance.

ResaHost’s phone support is available on weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00 Finnish time. Licences cover the tools used on the website. Web hosting security confirms daily malware scanning. Customer support contact card lists human chat support as available 24 hours a day on weekdays and from 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, Finnish time. The page’s general 24/7 statement differs from the weekend hours on the contact card; this comparison uses the card’s specific hours.

Zoner’s maintenance article states that Care Plus includes functionality testing; the tests are not described in detail. Care Plus features confirm one small content update per month. The sources checked did not confirm that paid plugin licences are included in Care. Hosting malware scanning is a separate feature from traffic filtering.

Ownership: group.one acquired all of Zoner’s shares in 2020. Zoner is still listed among the group’s companies. The group’s investors include Cinven and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

From €79/month, excluding VAT. The package includes hosting, daily backups, WordPress plugin updates and one .fi, .com or .net domain. Update frequency and PHP maintenance are not specified. Changes are billed at an hourly rate. The page separately presents a €480 preliminary analysis for existing websites.

Ownership: Company page names members of management as shareholders. The CEO’s article of 30 December 2023 describes the majority ownership at that time. The current ownership breakdown by country could not be fully verified from these sources. This does not mean the company is foreign-owned.

Domain management in this table does not mean that annual fees for all domains are included in the price. ResaHost’s package includes two-factor authentication; this comparison does not specify where it is used. Two-factor authentication for a control panel does not mean it is enabled on the customer’s WordPress site. The NIS2 row compares documentation provided to customers, not fulfilment of all the company’s statutory obligations.
